When you're just getting started online, you need to be prepared for getting education in the certain areas that are important for success online. Think about it - to be a doctor or a lawyer, you need to be trained. And sometimes the training takes years. The learning curve is shorter with Internet marketing, but information is power, and when you are armed with right information, and you act on it, the result is profits.

So what are the areas that are vital for Internet marketing success?

1. List building

2. Copywriting

3. Traffic generation

Those are the 3 areas that you need to master for success. For list building, you need to know how to work with your autoresponder and write emails that get people to take action (this ties in with copywriting). You need to know how to write compelling ads and sales letters. And most importantly, you need to understand how to drive traffic to your site.

My best advice is to buy a few products that specialize in each of those areas above. Spend time mastering each area until you are proficient in it, and then move on the next area. This was how I got started in Internet marketing. I would spend an entire day or week learning about email marketing, for example, get a grasp of it, before I moved on the next skill.

The goal is to get educated in each topic so that you are at least good in all of them, before you decide to be a master in some of them.

When most of us start to look for ways to make money online, it can be overwhelming at first. There is so much information out there, making it tough to find out where exactly one should start. This is the main reason why many people fail over and over when they take their first crack at trying to make it online. In all honesty, once you find a method that works for you and you stick to it, making money online is easy stuff from there on out.
